VMWARE FUSION MAC INSTALL UBUNTU HOW TO

Logging in as guest does not allow me to change any settings though. The weird thing is, I can log in under 'guest' but not as admin. Ubuntu 11.10, I've tried both 32 and 64 bit. Running on a Macbook pro, OS Lion 10.71, quad core i7. I am a linux newbie so maybe I did something wrong.

As it was, I was able to go back to 11.04.ДЇusion 3 works fine on Lion, so that's not the cause of your issues. I was afraid it was because I was still using Fusion 3 while running Lion. I'm glad to here that I am not the only person having this problem. If your data all seems to be there try looking up instructions for fixing GRUB. You might try booting off an Ubuntu ISO and take a look at your disk. Sounds like a problem with GRUB, the VM's BIOS can't find anything to boot.

After another minute in that state, it says: 'Booting up without full network configurations'. After a couple of minutes, it says: 'Waiting up to 60 more seconds for network configurations'. So, now when I turn on VMWare, and try to start up Ubuntu, first it says: 'Waiting for Network Configurations'. But after my battery died, and I reconnected the power, Ubuntu wouldn't boot up. I did so, and it seemed to be working fine at first. Then I was prompted by the update manager to upgrade to Ubuntu 11.10. I was using Ubuntu 11.04 with no problems on a virtual machine (VM Ware Fusion) on my Mac OSX 10.6.
